DENIAL OF RIGHT TO FARM SHIRA LGA:- The people of Jalkatari village via Disina District Shira LGA have recognized Farming as their only means of occupation due to boundary problem with neighbouring villages Tsimba and Dango, the former Emir of Katagum HRH Alhji Muhammad Kabir stopped the three villages from farming. The Chairman Caretaker Committee Shira LGA Mahmoud Abba permitted the people of Tsimba and Dango to resume farming at their farms denied the people of Jalkatari and stressed further distributed of Jalkatari farms to himself and other vulnerable people of Shira LGA.
The people of Jalkatari remained for almost 27 years without farming and having no other major occupation, they remain jobless in a critical condition.
JUYAF have visited the areas, while in an interview with some of the resident villagers they have been denied access to see the present Emir of Katagum by Alh Sule Sectary Emirate Council Katagum.
After all the efforts by JUYAF to allow the villagers access to the Emir of Katagum proved abortive, JUYAF filed a petition before the Emir of Katagum.
And 5t the Emir Simmon the stakeholders and the villagers brought a lasting solution to their problem. The Emir of Katagum ordered for immediate relocation of cultivated farm lands to the people of Jalkatari village Shira LGA.
Now all the villagers have gone back to farm like their neighboring villages.
