RAPES BY POLICE OFFICER
Zuwaira Hassan, a 13-year-old Bidir resident of Katagum local government, Bauchi state, was raped by a police officer. JUYAF has followed up this case On August 15, 2021, at about 08:21pm the vigilante patrol team led by Tijjani Muhammad (Kunde) of Azare found Zuwaira crying for help on the street behind Aminu Saleh College of Education Azare and so they took her to the Hisba office for immediate help. The hisba commander, Katagum Adamu Ibrahim Kale, was asking her about the incident, and she was explaining to him how the incident happened. Zuwaira make mention of Aliyu Mohammed, a Nigerian Police officer in Azare Division, saying that he took her to a house behind ASCOE Azare to have sex and then left her helplessly, She was stressed further. This has been the habit of Aliyu, who has fully known that he’s HIV positive, intentionally using the influence of his uniform to spread the killer disease to younger girls. Despite all effort made by the police to cover Aliyu in order to go court-free, JUYAF has followed up this case from the local level to the office of the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command.
